NTA Awards

Yes its that time of year once again, The National Television Awards are to be held at the 02 on January 23rd, shown live on ITV at 7.30pm.

Both Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are nominated as is Doctor Who itself, you can vote here , votes have to be in by midday on 18th January.

Award Nominations

The nominees for the annual Portal awards have been announced.

Matt Smith is nominated for Best Actor
Karen Gillan for Best Actress
Alex Kingston for Best Special Guest
Arthur Darvill for Best Supporting Actor
Doctor Who is nominated for Best Series

Both Elisabeth Sladen and Steven Moffat are nominated for the Gene Roddenbury Award this year.

Bafta Nominations

Although Doctor Who has not been nominated for a BAFTA's this year, The Mill has been nominated in the BAFTA Television Craft Award category.

Hugo Awards

Three stories from last series have been nominated for a Hugo in Best dramatic presentation short form, The catagory has five nominations.

The award will be presented in August in Chicago

Royal Television Society

Showrunner Steven Moffat has been nominated for drama writer award

Series 5 of The Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated for Best Childrens Drama.

The results will be announced on 20th March

The Award season is upon us once more and Doctor Who and its spin off productions are nominated again.

Best Youth orientaed series on Television (Saturn Awards - Doctor Who)
Best Presentation in Television (Saturn Awards - Torchwood: Miracle Day)
Best Actress in Televison (Eve Myles - Torchwood: Miracle Day)
Best Supporting Actor in Television (Bill Pullman - Torchwood: Miracle Day)
Best Supporting Actress in Television (Lauren Ambrose - Torchwood: Miracle Day)

The results will be announced in Burbank on 20th June.

The Doctor's Wife has been nominated for the Ray Bradbury Award for Outstanding Dramatic Performance at the Nebula awards, the result will be announced in May.

DWM's comic strip has been nominated for the EAGLE Award in the Favourite British Comicbook catagory. The winner will be announced on May 25th.

NTA Awards

Doctor Who is up against Downton Abbey and last years winner Waterloo Road, at this years National Television Awards for the Best Drama Award.

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan are also up against John Barrowman and Eve Myles in the Best Dramatic Performance Male and Female awards.

The voting for the National Television Awards is now open with the longlist closing 17th October and the Shortlist being announced in January. Both Doctor Who and Torchwood are up for Best Popular Drama.

Elisabeth Sladen has been nominated for the Gene Roddenberry Award which honours lifetime achievement.

Friday Update

The nominations for the 2011 Constellation awards have been announced.
Matt Smith is up against David Tennant for the best male performance.
Karen Gillan is nominated for best female performance.
The series itself is up for best science fiction television series, which it has won three times already.
Murry Gold is nominated for Best Technical Accomplishment.
Steven Moffat and Richard Curtis are up for Best Overall 2011 science fiction film or television script, for the Eleventh Hour and Vincent and the Doctor respectively.

The awards will be announced in Toronto on July 16th 2011

Monday Update

So no awards at last nights BAFTA's for Doctor Who, however Sherlock won.

The Rebel Flesh got an AI figure of 85.

A Good Man goes to War is expected to be shown at 6.45pm on 4th June, with a running time of 50 minutes.

Sunday Update

Don't forget the BAFTA's are on tonight 8pm BBC1

The Doctor's Wife got a final rating of 7.97m
The Overnight figures for the Rebel Flesh were 5.7m

Update

Doctor Who was the most recorded programme ever with 4.11 m viewing the Impossible Astronaut at a latter time.

This Sunday is the BAFTA's with Doctor Who up against Sherlock
