Sarah Jane Returns

The fifth and final series of the Sarah Jane Adventures starts on Monday 3rd October on the CBBC Channel, with episode 2 on Tuesday 4th October.
The series split into three two part adventures, starts with 'Sky' written by Phil Ford. The BBC press releases are below.

Episode One:
Alien investigator Sarah Jane Smith is back on CBBC with a fifth and final series of the award-winning The Sarah Jane Adventures, starring the late Elisabeth Sladen.Created by Russell T Davies, the hugely successful Doctor Who spin-off returns for a brand-new, six-part series, featuring three stories, each told over two episodes.
The first is the spectacular two-part story, Sky.In today's episode, Sarah Jane finds a baby girl on her doorstep and tries to find out who abandoned her.At a nearby nuclear power station, a beautiful woman appears out of thin air and uses alien powers to take control. She's looking for something – and realises that Sarah Jane may just have it...

Episode Two:
Today, Sky has undergone an amazing transformation, but in doing so has triggered a countdown that no one can stop.As Sarah Jane and Sky find themselves trapped between the alien war fought by Metalkind and Fleshkind, Clyde and Rani face a race against time to stop the biggest bang in history...

SJA at BFI

The BFI are to screen the first episode of the final series of the Sarah Jane Adventures on September 16th, this is a family event and afterwards a Q & A session will take place. Tickets can be booked by phoning 020 7199 6000
Tickets cost £9.50 cons £6.75.

SJA Series 4 Boxset

The BBC have announced that the series 4 boxset for The Sarah Jane Adventures will be released on October 31st 2011

RTS Winners


At last night Royal Television Society awards Steven Moffat was awarded the Judges award. While The Sarah Jane Adventures won the childrens drama award.
David Tennent won male actor for his role in single father.

Tuesday update

DWM have tweeted that they will reveal the titles of the first five stories of series 6 in their next issue (7th April)

SJA is up for an RTS award tonight, results published when known.

Tuesday Catch up

The Sarah Jane Adventures has been nominated for an RTS award, more news on results when known.

With the expected start date of series 6 only a month and a half away, expect news thick and fast for the next few weeks.

Death of the Doctor ratings

Another success for The Sarah Jane Adventures on the CBBC channel. Death of the Doctor received massive ratings figures.

Episode One 0.92 million
Episode Two 0.96 million

Alien Files received 0.388 million.

SJA - The Vault of Secrets

The second story of series 4 of The Sarah Jane Adventures topped the ratings for the CBBC channel again.

Episode One 731,000 viewers
Episode Two 606,000 viewers

The Alien Files got 420,000 viewers

Tuesday update

Filming continues in Cardiff on episode 1 & 2, with reports of a yellow American cab on location.
A great episode of Sarah Jane tonight, a right nostalgia fest for us fans. Good to see Matt back in the role and of course the amazing Katy Manning as Jo Grant.

Monday update


The Sarah Jane adventures has been nominated for a Children's BAFTA, Votes can be made here.

The first and second episode of The Nightmare Man got the highest figures on the CBBC channel, since January, 0.67m and 0.59 respectively.


The Daily Telegraph is giving away a free download of False Gods on Oct 30th. Also giving readers the chance to purchase more stories at discounted prices.

Wednesday update


Constructing of the new drama village in Cardiff has been underway for some months now. Doctor Who is supposed to move there in spring 2012, along with The Sarah Jane Adventures in 2012. So it looks as though Sarah Jane will be around for some time - but this has to be confirmed.
