A TARDIS photo booth has been installed at Heathrow Airports Terminal 5, allowing visitors to have the photographs taken with various aliens and then share them via #WhereDoYouWantToGo

In its 50th Anniversary year we want to include fans around the World in our Doctor Who celebrations and this partnership with Heathrow is a fantastic way of capturing the attention of people from across the globe

Susan Goldsmith (head of operations at Heathrow) has said:

I am delighted that Heathrow has been chosen to host this much loved British iconic series. With visitors from over 180 destinations worldwide, as the UK’s only hub airport, Heathrow offers a fantastic opportunity to bring the Doctor Who experience to an international audience this summer

New Theme Music & Titles

The BBC have announced that the Snowmen will feature new music and titles, the BBC said:

The new arrangement remains true to the original, written by Ron Grainer back in 1963, but on Christmas Day you'll hear it as it’s never sounded before. This latest version is more thrilling and powerful but retains that slightly scary quality that remains stirring no matter how many times you catch it.

We can't give too much away about the new-look titles except to say they are wonderfully dramatic and striking, with a couple of unexpected touches. In short, they're a perfect way to welcome back the Doctor!

Project Motor House

It has been revealed that former companion Janet Fielding is battling cancer, although nothing else is known about her condition.

Janet is the project co-ordinator of Project Motor House in Thanet, more details can be found here.

Peter Davison and many others are to attend a charity convention to raise money for this project and details of this event can be found here.

Mastermind

Doctor Who is to be the specialised subject for one of the contestants on this weeks Mastermind BBC1 8pm Friday.

The Week Ahead

With filming starting on this year Christmas special this week, keep an eye out in the papers for possible on set pics.

TARDIS Cameo Olympics 2012 London

The sound of the TARDIS engines were heard during the Bohemian Rhapsody  sequence at the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic games. Originally a filmed sequence of all 11 Doctors was to be included , but was dropped due to timing issues.

Brand Manager Edward Russell confirmed this via twitter:

A video montage which very briefly showed all 11 Doctors was approved but we were told it may not be included which was clearly the case

Olympic Games

There is supposed to be a Doctor Who related item in tomorrow nights opening ceremony of the Olympic Games - Keep your eyes peeled.

A documentary has been found, which shows behind the scene footage from the second Dalek movie featuring Peter Cushing as the Doctor. A Whole Scene Going  was a magazine programme from the BBC in the sixties. A clip from this recovered programme can be seen at The Tim Disney Archive.
