Pond Life

The series is proceeded by an online mini adventure on the official site, which runs daily from Monday 27th August. A new segment will appear each day around midday, culminating in all the episodes being available via the red button feature on Saturday 1st September. Featuring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, the story is written by Chris Chibnall.

Series Producer Caroline Skinner says:

‘Chris has written a beautiful, heartfelt and wickedly funny piece about the adventures the Ponds have been having with the Doctor since we last saw them on-screen. It’s not long till the series itself will be back with a vengeance – but in the meantime, Pond Life is a truly heart-warming piece about our best-loved companions and their madcap relationship with their raggedy Doctor.’

Chris Chibnall says:

Pond Life provides us with a lovely opportunity to catch-up with Amy and Rory since we saw them at the end of the last series. It opens with the Ponds at home and gives us an insight in to just what happens when the Doctor drops in and out of their lives. Travelling with the Doctor is one of the greatest things you can do, but it's fun to spend a few moments looking at the chaos he can also bring.

SDCC Series 7 news

At the San Diego Comic Con  two more episode titles were revealed. Episode two written by Chris Chibnall is titled Dinosaurs on a Spaceship and episode Three written by Toby Whithouse is called A Town Called Mercy.

It is also rumoured that the series will start on August 25th or September 1st (TBC)

Steven Moffat said:

Dinosaurs On A Spaceship - what more do you need? The Doctor will come face to face with some of the most monstrous creatures evolution has ever produced, on some of the most monstrous sets we've ever built. We took one look at Chris Chibnall's brilliant script and said to ourselves: "We're going to need a bigger corridor".

And Toby Whithouse's A Town Called Mercy takes us into a genre Doctor Who hasn't attempted since the Sixties - it's a full-blooded Western. We knew from the start we needed some serious location shooting for this one, and given the most iconic American setting imaginable there was only one place to go - Spain.

A Pond Farewell

Yesterday was the last filming day for Chris Chibnall's episode four and the last one to for (as far as we know) Amy & Rory, though their leaving episode has already been filmed.
Filming should commence soon on this years Christmas Special which will introduce Jenna-Louise Coleman as the yet unnamed new companion. Keep your eyes open in the papers the next few weeks.

Series 7 Writers

This month's DWM (out tomorrow) reveals that both Toby Whithouse and Chris Chibnall will be writing for Series 7. Whithouse's story is provisionally pencilled in for third adventure of the series.

DWM says that production designer Michael Pickwoad is working on one of the biggest sets the series has ever built.
