Radio Times Exhibition

A Dalek now takes pride of place at the Doctor Who section of the Radio Times Exhibition at The Museum of London.

Museum Director Sharon Ament has said:

From the TARDIS shaped as a 1960s-style London police box to the many episodes inspired by our capital city, the Doctor is a cultural icon with a strong affinity to London. We are over the moon to have a Dalek as part of the Radio Times 90th anniversary exhibition, along with original artwork and the weird and wonderful Doctor Who covers, which have graced countless editions.


The free exhibition and is open every day until Sunday 3rd November. The museum is open from 10am to 6pm.

Daleks Return

The BBC have officially announced that the Daleks will return for this years anniversary special and have released some promotional pics.

 

Steven Moffat, lead writer and executive producer, said:

“The Doctor once said that you can judge a man by the quality of his enemies, so it's fitting that for this very special episode, he should be facing the greatest enemies of all.”

The fact is, we’re not going to lose the old Daleks. We’re keeping them. They’re coming back. We’ll just use them all at once, and have different ranks.
All I’ve done is give the Daleks an officer class.

Steven Moffat has also revealed.

Told my son the title of ep 1 of the next run of Dr Who. A pause. "I think we can do better, Daddy." Then: "We need clever. Not cheesy."

Thursday Update

Good and bad news today.

Bad news first. BBC Worldwide have confirmed that the Fox network will not proceed with an American version of Torchwood, however Jane Trantor of BBC America has said they are in talks with other networks.

Good news now, Channel Five will Transmit the whole 26 episodes of K9- The Series this autumn.

The Daleks seen above, were at Sheffield at the launch of the online Doctor Who Adventures, which are available to download from the official site on 5th June.

Peter Mckinstry's website now contains concept artwork from Series 5.

Weekend Update

Victory of the Daleks overnight figures were 6.2m, the second highest watched programme of the night, after Britains got talent.
